Shape and Profile

They can vary widely in design, from simple flat - faced boards to more elaborate styles with multiple layers, grooves, or decorative patterns. The main purpose of a baseboard is to provide a decorative border at the bottom of a wall and to protect the wall from scuffs and damage caused by furniture and foot traffic.
